Reviews:
"Nestled
among the shops and restaurants of Old South Gaylord, Max Gill and
Grill brings a terrific option for dining in the area. The space
resembles a New England coastal retreat with several areas for
dining, a focal bar, lots of wood and exposed brick and a casual,
friendly feel. Start with the raw bar, a feature here with raw
oysters, clams, shrimp and lobster for a true taste of Maine. The
jalapeno cornbread whets the appetite for choices of seafood and
spit roasted and grilled entrees.
Appetizers include fried tomatoes, crab cakes, calamari, empanadas
and an exceptional walnut crusted goat cheese plate. The greens
with cranberry vinaigrette, glazed walnuts, sun dried cranberries
and goat cheese is a must. Seafood entrees include a huge bowl of
cioppino full of goodies and wonderful bread topped with pesto or
dishes such as swordfish, salmon, scallops, and fish and chips.
The grill features items smoked on premise before grilling: pork
chops, ribs, prime rib and chicken...
Service shines with a friendly, well-informed staff. Max Gill &
Grill enhances this popular neighborhood and welcomes all for
lunch and dinner."

"Max is simply a seafood
restaurant. The decor is still a classed-up version of every
Crow's Nest/Rusty Scupper seafood shanty on either coast, the
service casual, the room warm and inviting."
