Robata
Grill & Sake Bar has been one of the locals' favorite restaurants since its opening in
1980. People from around the world have eagerly returned each time they have been in
the area. Happily, it is
a 'Favorite Place' for our friends and families when they are visiting the peninsula.
You will enjoy the ambiance of the traditional Japanese Inn setting with its rustic
wood interior, low ceiling and the quiet grace. The cuisine is as authentic as the
decor; with fresh sushi, light tenpura as well as delicate morsels of fish, fowl, meat,
and vegetables cooked on the open hearth. When you have the occasion, we welcome the
opportunity to acquaint you to Robata. |

"Robata
has changed remarkably little over its lifespan...with the wear
and patina of age, the feel is of a rustic Japanese tea house.
In some ways, the physical environment merely provides the
background for what is the real decoration -- a crowd of
regulars, with a strong emphasis on families and children, many
of whom seem to know one another. What draws all these people in
is a broad-ranging Japanese menu with a number of inventive
items, a full-service bar with a large wine list for a Japanese
restaurant, a fairly stable staff who know many of the patrons
by name and a sprinkling of bargains which have particular
appeal for families." |

"A busy restaurant is a sign of fresh food
being served, and from the looks of it, Robata must regularly be forced to call fishermen
on their cell phones to ensure a delivery will arrive before you finish your miso soup.
Don't worry if the thought of raw fish makes your saliva glands dry up ... Robata has a
long and varied menu, with plenty of excellent cooked dishes. If raw fish is your thing,
they're the best." |
