Kenichi Pacific will "wow" you with its highly praised
Japanese fusion cuisine and sushi, and its contemporary
ambience. In a relaxed, elegant setting, Kenichi offers
unforgettable fusion dishes, such as the Duck Confit, a
Chinese five-spice cured duck leg served with celeriac puree and wild mushrooms in a delicious port wine reduction
sauce. The Ono Tataki grilled rare, stands out as well, with
mashed yams, green beans, oyster mushrooms and a ponzu
emulsion. Another "must try" is the Dynamite Shrimp, tempura
shrimp baked with smelt aioli and teriyaki sauce. |

"A new dining experience in the
Keauhou
Shopping Center,
this small "Sushi & Fusion Cuisine" restaurant really bumps
Kona's restaurant scene up a notch. High quality foods,
friendly and attentive service, and a classy decor make this
one of the best in town. The Dungeness crab cakes are
melt-in-your-mouth good (of course, the appetizer portion
leaves you wanting more!), and we loved the "Aspen"
sushi roll, with tempura asparagus as its prime ingredient. We
look forward to working our way through their entire entree'
menu, one by one!" |

"Hidden in the
Keauhou Shopping Center is this gem of a restaurant, decorated
in muted tones and understated furnishings, featuring both
Pacific Rim fusion cuisine and a sushi bar. The food is
fantastic, the service efficient, and the experience leaves
you smiling. The appetizer menu is so tempting, you might just
want to graze from one dish to the next of ginger-marinated
squid, blackened tuna, Dungeness crab cakes, and fresh lobster
summer rolls. Entrees include pan-seared mahimahi with
eggplant mousse, hearts of palm and asparagus in a miso beurre
blanc sauce, macadamia-crusted lamb accompanied by taro
risotto, and Kenichi's special roast duck with orange hoisin
sauce, wrapped in mu shu and served with tempura asparagus.
Whatever you order, leave room for the warm, flourless molten
cake, covered with espresso crème anglaise and served with
Kona coffee-chip ice cream." |

"Kenichi serves a self-described
"fusion cuisine" that in this case is a fusion of Japanese
flavors and cooking techniques with fresh island ingredients.
I was quite impressed with the food and service at Kenichi
Pacific restaurant. The menu is loaded with cleverly
constructed dishes that deliver on flavor and presentation.
Keauhou is fortunate to have quality restaurateurs like
Kenichi decide to open a delightful food operation in our
growing community." |
